As we approach mid-September, it’s time to start switching
gears and make the transition to fall. If you’re anything like me, you dread
the feeling of those summer nights fading away, but what better way to make
yourself feel better than a shopping trip? Here are my top 7 must haves for
fall:
1) Leather jacket
Leather jackets are perfect for fall, and can be layered with sweaters and scarves on those chillier days. They are a staple piece in anyone’s wardrobe because they are literally classic and will never go out of style.
2) Ankle booties!
First of all, how freaking cute are these? You can wear them with jeans either tucked in or rolled up, skirts, dresses, anything! Boots are always classic for fall, but ankle booties are more versatile and can easily transition between day and night.
3) Chunky knit sweater
Chunky sweaters are the way to go this season because they’re warm enough
to be worn alone but can also be layered with jackets, scarves, or statement
necklaces. Bonus: they’re super comfy!
4) Pick a scarf, any scarf!
As a slightly obsessed scarf fanatic, I would argue that
scarves are a must have for any season, but fall is there real time to shine.
Fashion scarves can be an accessory for literally any outfit, and thick, knit
scarves can be used to keep you warm as well as a statement piece for your
look.
5) Open-poncho cardigan
These are basically sweater versions of kimonos, which was
everyone’s favorite summer add-on this past season. So why not bring a warmer
version along with us for fall? These cardigans are an easy way to dress up any
outfit, and are super easy to throw on when your outfit needs a little
something different.
6) Beanies
Beanies are a fun way to bundle up and accessorize! They can be worn over
the top of your head, or pinned loosely on the back of your head to give your
outfit some extra flare.
7) Boot socks
Boot socks are a perfect add on to any fall outfit because they’re cute
and they keep you warm! There are even a bunch of DIY’s for these on Pinterest.
Throw on these high socks with your tall boots paired with jeans, leggings,
skirts, or dresses and you’ll be ready to jump into fall!
